  AMEMIYA Yosuke

  Born in 1975 in Ibaraki, and lives and works in Berlin. His works encourage viewers to rethink boundaries between things, as in his uniquely narrated performances and representational sculptures that combine universality of theme with exquisitely skilled techniques.

  Cerith WYN EVANS

  Born in 1958 in Wales, UK, and lives and works in London. Wyn Evans’s conceptual practice encompasses a wide range of media, involving language, light, sound, space, reflection and so forth and is grounded in various fields ranging from philosophy and music to astronomy and physics.

  KAWAGUCHI Tatsuo

  Born in 1940 in Hyogo, and lives and works in Chiba. He has been producing and exhibiting work prolifically since the 1960s. A leading figure in conceptual art in Japan, Kawaguchi deals with the theme of reciprocal relations among objects, or among objects and people. His work is characterized by concern with various fields such as space, time, and darkness, and by its rendering visible the usually invisible “relation” (a word frequently appearing in many of his titles) among all manner of things and phenomena.

  TAKANO Aya

  Born in 1976 in Saitama, and lives and works in Kanagawa. Drawing imagery from a dizzying variety of sources and constructing her own personal universes, Takano is known for works depicting androgynous figures and animals which convey a mythical worldview pervaded by bliss and utopianism.

  WADA Reijiro

  Born in 1977 in Hiroshima, and lives and works in Berlin. In his works thus far Wada has employed unique methods to express in sculptural form his interest in elements such as the ancient theme of “Vanitas” (futility or impermanence), evoking the ephemerality of form, time, liquid, nature, and life itself.

  Jean-Michel OTHONIEL

  Born in 1964 in Saint-Etienne, France, and lives and works in Paris. He fatefully encountered the famous Murano glass of Venice, since the early 1990s he has employed materials with reversible states, conveying concerns with phenomena such as transformation, sublimation and mutation. He is internationally renowned for many large-scale sculptures that blend harmoniously with the public spaces where they are installed.

  SASAMOTO Aki

  Born in 1980 in Kanagawa, and lives and works in New York. She exhibits sculptures and installations, notably works in which spaces are sculpturally segmented to form an environment in which she stages improvisational performances incorporating her own dancing, words, and objects.

  HAN Ishu

  Born in Shanghai, China in 1987, and lives and works in Tokyo. Using his own body and everyday items in his surroundings, he works in diverse media such as video, installation, photography, and painting, addressing questions and doubts that arise in regard to the relationship between society and individual with sincerity often laced with humor.
